Greetings and Good Bye in Spanish

To get you off on the right foot, you need to know how to say Hello to people properly. Just as in English, there are several ways of doing this in Spanish. You can simply use hola (hello or hi) on its own. you can also use buenos días (Good morning), buenas tardes (afternoon or good evening), and buenas noches (good evening-once it,s dark).

  • Hola.                        =   Hello.
  • ¡hola,ben!                 =  Hi Ben.
  • Buenos días              =  Good Morning
  • Hola, buenas tardes  =  Hi, Good afternoon
  • Buenas noches         =  Good evening
  • Encantado                =  Pleased to meet you
  • ¿que tal?                  =   How are you?
  • ¿que tal te va?         =   How is it Going?
Use adiós (good bye) or hasta pronto (see you soon) to say good bye to people you don,t know well. you can just say hasta luego (See you) if you want to sound more informal.

  • ¡Adiós!                    =  Good bye
  • ¡Adiós!¡hasta otra!  =  Good bye! See you again.
  • ¡Hasta luego!           =  See You!
  • ¡Hasta pronto!         =  See you soon!
  • ¡Hasta mañana!       =  See you tomorrow!
  • ¡Hasta el lunes!       =  See you Monday!
  • ¡Hasta el domingo! =  See you Sunday!
